Hello there everyone!
My name is Marina and I specialise in creating:
*Patchwork blankets (development/for picnics/play/sleep/newborn)
*Quiet books (for kids aged from 6 months up to 7 y.o.)
*Handmade Felt Christmas toys
*A sewing course "How to make a quiet book".
By following the simple steps in a series of 25 tutorials in this course, you can learn how to make your own quiet books.
Apart from that I am a firm believer of the "reclothing" concept: I use patches from old baby clothes or from materials that are treasurable and hold special memories for a customer to create personalized keepsake memory blankets. I'm giving a second life to treasurable clothes and related memories and this makes me and my customers happy.
So when and how did I start to sew my blankets? Well, about 12 years ago, I sewed my first quilt. It was very large and ...not perfect at all! It was made on my grandmother's old rare Singer sewing machine using materials from various sources: pieces of my mother's dress, curtains from our nursery, grandmother's robe, father's trousers, favourite T-shirts. A memory blanket indeed.... better than a photo album I would say. And now my nephew is indulging with his personalised blanket, and all these colourful pieces of our treasured family history warm and comfort him with our love.
Development blankets and quiet books are interactive in nature, and are custom made to complement the child's psychological development stage, their needs and their age. My teaching diploma for children of primary school age helps me a lot in it.
My customers come from 21 countries around the world, and I hope this count will grow with every craft I make ;)
